Step 5 of the 100 Day Profit Reset Protocol

Payment Flexer

In-house monthly payment plans, so cost stops being the reason a patient says no.

The leak it stops

Some patients say no to treatment they want because of the number, not the dentistry — and even with insurance, cost is the objection that ends more consultations than any other. Third-party financing helps some of them and turns others away, and the ones who are declined leave twice as unhappy.

Payment Flexer gives a trusted patient a simpler answer: split it into a few monthly payments, right here in the office, with no interest. The card goes in once, the instalments charge themselves, and your front desk hears about it only if a charge fails.

What Payment Flexer does

A plan in a few clicks

Enter the treatment total and the number of payments; the schedule is generated. The first payment is taken the same day, while the patient is with you.

Instalments that charge themselves

The remaining payments are charged automatically every thirty days. The patient gets a receipt after each one — payment three of three, next date — and a thank-you when the plan completes.

A failed charge is handled the same day

If a card fails, the patient immediately receives a no-fault email ("usually just an expired card — give us a quick call") and the plan appears in a Failed Payments block at the top of your dashboard until it is re-run.

The card never touches your office

Cards are stored securely by Stripe; your practice never sees or keeps the full number.

A collections view your bookkeeper will like

The Scheduled Payments report lists every instalment across every plan — upcoming, paid, overdue, failed — with the Stripe fee and your net payout on each.

Plans and their value on the dashboard

The Payment Plans graph shows plans created each month and their face value, so you can see what the option is worth.

What running it looks like

Setting it up

Step 5 of the protocol, two short videos — but the real setup was Step 4, connecting Stripe. With that done, Payment Flexer needs almost nothing.

Day to day

Only when cost is the obstacle for a patient you trust: offer the plan, enter the card, set the schedule, take the first payment. A few clicks, chairside.

Worth knowing

Three rules the tool is built around: offer it to established, trusted patients rather than new ones; keep it to a few instalments; collect the first payment the same day. Once a payment has been collected, the schedule is fixed.

Questions about Payment Flexer

Who is this for?

Established, trusted patients for whom cost is the only obstacle. The practice is extending interest-free credit, so the tool is built for selective use, not for every new patient.

Is there interest or a fee for the patient?

No interest — it is your practice's own plan. Stripe's card-processing fee applies to each charge, and the report shows it beside your net payout.

What happens if a payment fails?

The patient gets an immediate, friendly email asking them to call, and the plan shows in the Failed Payments block on your dashboard. Update the card and re-run the charge from the schedule.

Can I change the schedule later?

Only before any payment has been collected. Because the first payment is taken the same day, treat the schedule you create as final.

Do I need Stripe?

Yes — Payment Flexer charges cards through your practice's own Stripe account, connected in Step 4 of the protocol.
