Step 8 of the 100 Day Profit Reset Protocol
Stock Sentry
Stop the supply waste and the panic ordering.
The leak it stops
Supplies leak money two ways at once. Overstock expires on the shelf and goes in the bin. Understock runs out mid-week and gets rush-ordered at a premium with expedited shipping. When nobody is tracking either, the supply line just grows — and with tariffs and inflation, it has been growing fast.
Stock Sentry is deliberately small: not an inventory system for two hundred items, but a watch on the ten to twenty that actually expire or run out on you, counted once a week from your phone in the supply room.
What Stock Sentry does
Two hundred items pre-loaded — you watch twenty
A categorised list of common dental supplies is ready on day one. You mark as critical only the items that expired or were rush-ordered in the last six months, and manage those.
An ideal quantity and a buy point per item
The maximum worth keeping on hand, and the level that triggers a reorder — pre-set with sensible defaults, tuned over time from your own usage.
The weekly count, on your phone
Same day each week, in the supply room: enter each critical item's on-hand quantity. Items at or below their buy point turn red.
Items to order, in one view
Filter to what needs ordering, place the orders in your usual system, then reset the recommendations. About fifteen to twenty minutes a week.
Trends that tune the numbers
On-hand quantities and order recommendations by month, per item — the slow-moving expensive item whose ideal quantity should drop, the one that keeps hitting zero whose buy point should rise.
Counts that get less frequent
As the numbers settle, counts can move from weekly to fortnightly to monthly — the habit shrinks as the waste disappears.
What running it looks like
Setting it up
Step 8 of the protocol, an introduction and four short videos — one of the shortest setups in the protocol: build the critical-items list, accept the default quantities, start counting.
Day to day
None daily. One proper count a week, about fifteen to twenty minutes — the one genuine block of time in the whole protocol, and it pays for itself many times over.
Worth knowing
Resist managing everything. The saving comes from the handful of items that expire or run out; the rest can stay as they are.
What it did in one practice

Questions about Stock Sentry
Do I have to count everything?
No — and you should not. Mark ten to twenty critical items (the ones that expired or were rush-ordered in the last six months) and count only those.
How long does the weekly count take?
About fifteen to twenty minutes for ten to twenty items, done on a phone in the supply room, the same day each week.
Does it place orders for me?
No. It tells you what to order and how much; you order through your usual supplier, then reset the recommendation.
What are the ideal quantity and the buy point?
The most of an item worth keeping on hand, and the on-hand level that should trigger a reorder. Start with the defaults and adjust from the trend graphs — do not change them in the first weeks.
Does the count stay weekly forever?
Not necessarily. As the settings settle, counts can move to fortnightly, then monthly. The habit shrinks as the waste does.
